Carol Riddick:Moments Like This

The debut album of talented singer/songwriter and Philly native Carol Riddick is a formal introduction to the world. Carol Riddick has been behind the music scene for years making appearances on albums of some the best artists to come out of Philadelphia. Now that she is out front, she does not disappoint. With the opening track titled “You Better Not Hurt Me” Carol confesses how the love of a good man has changed her perspective of what love can be and that he better not mess up what they have built. In “I Like The Way It Feels”, the anticipation of some good lovin’ is in the air. She reminisces on the good times shared and takes listeners through the intimacy expressed between two people in love. One of my favorite tracks (also the title track) is “Moments Like This”. Carol reflects on the joy of being with someone you truly care about and the special moments like watching them peacefully sleep or just holding one another on the sofa. In “All I Wanna Be” a statement of love and devotion between a mother and child is declared. Carol confesses that she wants to be the best mother to her daughter because she IS her. In the track titled “Confused” she questions her own inability to make the decision to let go of a bad relationship. Its very thought provoking because we’ve all experienced being confused at times because we’re fighting ourselves trying to hold on to an unhealthy relationship. The last track “Tribute To Gram: It’s Ok” is a tribute to her Grandmother and that it is ok to pass on to the next life. This is a very heart touching song. This album “Moments Like This” is a glimpse into Carol’s life and your own. Each track seems to speak to you. I believe this is a great album for those who love good lyrics and music that comes straight from the heart.
