Angie Stone: No Stone Going Unturned...
Ahhh! Sister Angie is back with a new label, a new love, and all the things that made us love her “Mahogany Soul”. Stax records newest artist Angie Stone brings us “The Art of Love and War” which is her fourth studio album. The first single “BABY” features Betty Wright. The two Sagittarius soul stirrers were excited to pin this track here in Memphis, the original home of the Stax label. Aside from the album’s first single another salutation to the “true school” includes a rendition of Curtis Mayfield’s “Give me your love”. Pauletta Washington makes an appearance on “Happy Being ME”, and James Ingram helps out on “My People”. While listening to this mother of two you can hear the joy and the new found love on songs like “Black Diamond”. My favorite track has to be “Sit Down” on which Angie becomes a seductress. This 14 track cd is in stores now.
