'The Word' featuring International Poet, Taalam Acey
MARCH 11th - 28th
Directed by Leslie 'Stickey' Reddick
In celebration of Women's History Month, we stage scenes, soliloquies and songs to present an imaginative exploration of the Bard's women, from his celebrated leads (Rosalind, Juliet, and Lady Macbeth) to his lesser-known but no less intriguing ladies (such as Othello's Emilia and Henry VI's Joan). Shakespeare's female characters represent not only the many faces of womanhood; they illuminate the depth of human experience.

The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater grew from the now fabled performance in March 1958, at the 92nd Street Young Men's Hebrew Association in New York. Led by Alvin Ailey and a group of young African-American modern dancers, that performance changed forever the perception of American dance.
Today, led by Artistic Director, Judith Jamison, AAADT has gone on to perform for an estimated 23 million people in 48 states and in 71 countries on six continents, including two historic residencies in South Africa.
NEO SOUL & JAZZ SESSIONS Part II is taking place again at the Westin Hotel, March 19th from 5pm - 11pm.
Listen to the Live Sounds of the Strictly Jazz Quartet and a mellow smooth Urban Hang Suite playlists of Neo Soul artists such as Raheem DeVaughn, Ledisi, Goapele, Eric Roberson, Van Hunt, Meshell Ndegeocello and many others.
This is an "UNWIND" atmosphere for the urban professional. In appreciation of past support this event is FREE of charge. Attire is Comfortable, but Classy.
