Real Style: Cooper-Young Festival 2013 by Ariane Patrice
The Cooper-Young Festival, in its 26th year, is the sign that the summer festival season is coming to an end. Held on the 2nd weekend in September, the Cooper-Young Festival attracts over 120,000 guests enjoying food, wares, and music of over 400 artisans from around the country. Every year I eagerly look forward to pursuing the treasures offered by the various vendors and thoroughly enjoy the stylish looks that are unique to this historical Memphis district. This year I linked up with Louis ‘Ziggy’ Tucker to snap the festival visitors. Let’s get into the looks shall we.
The use of a leopard slipper with a jean pant gives the pop of the unexpected to his look.
The combination of textures and autumnal colors is a perfect summer to fall transitional look. Peep that vintage Gucci bag please.
The unexpected details in this couple’s looks are wonderful: his broaches and polka dots, the hardware on her belt and their his and her shades!!!!
Plaids are very on trend for this fall and were spied all over on CY Festival goers. This young man’s take of the look is effortlessly cool.
Florals in a darker print are also another great seasonal transition look as this stylish lady is displaying.
I cannot get enough of her 90′s cool girl look. We literally chased her down for a snap.
This young guy is perfectly blending west coast living and b-boy steeze with his high top fade, chunky gold chain and Jesus piece.
How more Memphis can this be. We LOVED this guy’s shirt.
How stylish are all these folks?! Make sure to check out the full gallery after the jump from this year’s Cooper-Young Festival.
