Jane's Most Anticipated Albums of 2012

I'm sorry but I am honestly not anticipating Detox unlike others I noticed clamoring for details and first peeks on the music blogs. But there are a couple of albums that I will purposely buy for the sole principle of fulfilling the satisfaction of knowing that these will be the most discussed albums of 2012. Watch what I say...

Master of Make-Believe- Santigold Spring 2012 (coincidentally David Banner's new album shares a similar title and is also slated for a 2012 release...go figure) If you are a Santi- Santo- gold fan like myself, then you're still rotating her debut self titled album. I have heard the first track "Go" and I am excited to hear if there is evolution from the first album to this project. I don't believe Santi will fall victim to the sophomore curse...she's just to fly for that. In her most recent interview with V Magazine, she expresses how she feels about this album stating, "I want my music to be that for people. I want it to be an initiator of something compelling, to set something in motion."

Untitled- Brandy May 2012 This almost doesn't count as a comeback...welp. Moesha is back, y'all! With her recurring role on BET's The Game, Brandy is making the most of this year. Her last studio album was sub-par in sales and that
also made for a split from her label, Epic Records. Since that time, Brandy has emerged back on the scene with a new deal (RCA), new man, and another chance for us to remember what we loved about Brandy in the 90's. I know she has a faithful fan base and I'm sure she will not disappoint them. But what about the rest of us?

Radio Music Society- Esperanza Spalding March 20, 2012 YAAAASSSSSSS!!!!!! Grammy award- winning Jazz beauty Esperanza Spalding is not yet done murking us softly and melodically. Her sophomore album, Radio Music Society is sure to be even funkier than her last project. This conceptual album boasts additional vocalists like Algebra Blessett, Lalah Hathaway, and Q-Tip. I am soooooooo ready!

The Godfathers- Kool G Rap x Necro 2012 This is one of those album where you sit back and take in the magnificence of it all. If this is anything like the Pre-Kill Digital Mix then we still ain't ready. I'm sure everyone is familiar with who Kool G Rap is and if you're not then you might as well get the hell off my blog. There's nothing here for you. For the rest of you who do know...you know that this right here will be one of those classic albums...Summer release I bet. Brooklyn native, Necro brought the concept of this collaboration project to G who also has nothing but admiration for the rapper as well. This is going to be one hell of an album if I say so myself.

Untitled- Lil Kim 2012 I was just overlooking The Game marathon and I saw the intro piece where Malik was doing a video with Lil Kim and I was like "What happened to La Bella Mafia?" Welp... she's suppose to be back this year with a new album. Let's just hope she has dropped that petty beef with Nicki Minaj and will deliver a noteworthy album. I don't want to have that "Say it ain't so Queen Bee?" face when I hear this album. But nonetheless, I'm interested.
