"Love Behind the Melody".. Ohhh ahhh Raheem DeVaughn is defiantly back. To show how "back" he is "Love Behind the Melody" debuted as #1 on Billboard. The first track from the NeoSoul Rock Star is "Woman". With his undeniable talent, insightful lyrics and unusual sincerity the R&B Hippie is thanking and appreciating us just for being a W O M A N. I have adopted this song as my 08 anthem. If you have not seen the video he is sporting a fresh new hair cut and has captured the true essences of beautiful, smart, sexy, sassy, and classy women. "Marathon" ,a very hot and seductive track, is a duet with Floetry . Burger King isn't the only place you can get it your way... "Customer" is the ultimate "make you fall in love with your man again" track. Raheem tells you "you can super size it, tell me what you want, you are the customer." Mr. Midnight "Love Drug" is truly an addictive song this is definitely my "white zin" cut of the whole cd. Other collaborations are with Big Boi (Outkast) the "ride out" track "Energy". I think Raheem has truly out done himself on this 17 track CD. This is a great follow-up to "The Love Experience." Don't take my word for it show some love to the "love-aholic" & go out and buy it in stores or at cdbaby.com. I would definitely have to say DeVaughn is arguably the most underrated R&B, NEO-Soul artist of our time. You can also catch a live performance of him on February 19,2008 on Ellen and in concert live here in Memphis at the Orpheum with JILL SCOTT March 28th and 29th.
