Amy Winehouse: Frank
Ms. Amy "Rehab" Winehouse is back. Not really. Her first cd titled "Frank" was re-released in November 2007. The title came from her love of Frank Sinatra, who she considers one of the best 'male' singers in his time. "Frank" first debuted back in October 2003, with only 10 tracks. Now the re-release has an additional 3 tracks. No matter what personal problems she has you cannot doubt Amy’s vocals. Considered to be the British Sara Vaughn, Amy Winehouse's talent is no fluke. I love her ability to express herself as an artist. Regardless of people stating that life is now imitating art, I am a witness to the fact that some of the best hits are those the artist has really experienced.
"I Heard Love is Blind", "Moody's Mood for Love", and "No Greater Love" shows her jazz range to the fullest. "In My Bed" shows her hip-hop side which was not out of her element only showing us more of her versatility. Her darkest cut on the cd would be "Take the Box". This track truly paints a picture beyond the lyrics. "Phuck Me Pumps" allows her fans to enjoy her rugged charm, brash sense of humor, as well as her soulful jazzy vocals. You can count on one thing with an AW track... you are going to get to know her personally and the way she express herself with candor and profanity. Never take my word for it just go purchase the cd and HEAR FOR YOURSELF.
Until Next Time
